Okay, what’s the goal of your website? You know what’s really the goal of your website? Because I see a mistake all too often that small business owners go out there and they try to sell the service and the product everything on there they put here’s the product here’s the price here is the terms conditions everything on the website and I just don’t get the engagement of the potential visitor. So what do you think? What is the goal of my website and most times except for cases such as e-commerce you’ll find that the goal, is actually to get someone to pick up the phone or to get them to ask for a quote or to get them to download something or to fill in a contact us form and if that’s the goal of your website then everything you do should funnel towards that. That means that some cases offering a lot of information in one area or aspirational images or something to get people’s attention and deliberately not including information in other areas. So that a consumer is engaged who feels this is a good thing, this could be a good fit for me, feels the need to pick up the phone. If you take that approach with your website, you’ll find that you can rewrite things. You can sort of pull back the text and put more images or pull back the images and put more text whatever it takes to try to achieve that goal and want you to go and look at your website right now and think okay well if the goal is this, how well does it lead a person down that pathway because that’s the secret to getting more consumers to come to your site and then pick up the phone, get quote, contact download whatever your goal is.
